3 indicted in fraud allegations automotive repair shop | Dupontcirclepr

By Steve Kanigher Monday, July 11, 2011 | 01:52 Three people have been indicted on charges of theft arising from the operation of their stores Auto Care 702 auto repair in Las Vegas, Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto said today. The indictment alleges that Harold Gomez, Jose Gomez, and Yader Gomez, also known as Tony Gomez, intentionally and falsely misrepresented to customers that their vehicle will be repaired in exchange for payment. State alleges that the defendants never intended to fix these vehicles, that the repairs are not done, and that the victim is not refundable payment. "This type of fraud cost victims more than the amount they pay to the defendant," Cortez Masto said. "Some victims are left without transportation for several months and require expensive repairs on their vehicles outside the originally required because of the actions the defendant.

" My office is committed to ensure that this type of behavior does not continue in our country "This case was investigated by the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles after receiving numerous complaints about errors made by three people . . complaints, including from people who say they paid several thousand dollars for the defendant to rebuild or replacement engine that was never received by the Attorney General Bureau of Consumer Protection to adjudicate this issue . . .
